Welcome Kincaid!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

The surname Kincaid originated in the county of Stirlingshire, Scotland. History has many records of Kincaids as early as the 15th century - around the same time cairns were first noted also. Hard times forced many members of the Kincaid clan to leave their homeland in search of new opportunities. This tough and vigorous clan overcame adversity to thrive in a new and unknown land. John Kincaid, an early settler, came to New Jersey in 1685.

CP's Kincaid is true to the clan history - he also lost his home due to hard times. Kincaid is a 3 1/2 year old male who through no fault of his own ended up at a humane society shelter. His family was moving and unable to take him with them. Being very handsome, Kincaid was soon adopted by a volunteer associated with the shelter. Unfortunately this kind person had no terrier experience and realized she was not the right person for Kincaid. Kincaid came back to the shelter where the staff contacted Col. Potter for help finding a terrier savvy family for Kincaid.

Kincaid is a gorgeous wheaten with some gray brindling. He weighs 18.5 lbs and is just right for his build. He is currently doing his mandatory vet stay where he promptly marked the kennel water bowl as his. Kincaid is dreaming of the day when he has his very own water bowl and home! Please welcome Kincaid to Col. Potter where he will be in a warm, loving foster home to start the journey to finding his forever home in 2009.

Happy New Year!
