Welcome Kallie to CP!!

Today a sweet wheaten girl joined Col. Potter. She's a little sad with the changes in her life and is wondering what happened to her family,

Hopefully a new family will soon make her their very own and take away the sadness. Please say a soft and loving welcome to Kallie.

COL. POTTER just made $2.11

There is a way for you to support Col. Potter just by making online purchases through our direct affiliates or through IGIVE.

Yep and you can do this and get higher returns by using our direct affiliate links whenever possible. Please follow this link for our direct affiliates:

IGIVE is also great. They act like the middleman who gets a bunch of affiliates together but they also take a little for themselves. So if we have a direct link, its almost always going to bring in more money for CP than IGIVE. IGIVE on the other hand has so many more stores that we don't have so you can almost buy from any website you normally would through them and a percentage will go to Col. Potter.

Thanks for considering this today!

Welcome Gorgesboy to CP!!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Coordinator

Gorgesboy name needs no explanation. Just look at this boy. He is gorgeous! Not quite one years old yet, Gorgesboy is reportedly housebroken, good with children and other dogs his size, riding in the car and knows basic commands.

Gorgesboy is very playful and loves to play catch. I’d like everyone to give Gorgesboy a big CP welcome.

Sunday Sweets!

Sunday is full of SWEETS! Each week we will showcase the sweeter side of Cairns. Welcome Emerson to CP!!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Coordinator

A few days ago, sweet young man joined the CP family. Emerson is 1 1/2 years old, and wandered the streets of Florida until he found himself at a local Humane Society.

Luckily for him, the Rescue folks knew he was a cairn, and contacted CP. Emerson is English for brave and powerful. From what our volunteer said- it should mean 'very high energy'!!

Welcome Emerson!

WELCOME SWAYZE - THIS LITTLE GUY 'DANCED' HIS WAY INTO CP!!

Written by CP's VP of Intakes

I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the movie "Dirty Dancing", but that movie left such a mark on my generation. I have no idea how many times I watched it, but believe me, it was ALOT! Every girl wanted Patrick Swayze or the character he played, Johnny Castle, as their boyfriend! He personified the handsome, sexy, bad boy heartbreaker.

In memory of Patrick Swayze, please welcome Swayze to CP! He is a handsome little heartbreaker who at the tender age of 8 months found himself in need of a new home. Just as Johnny Castle rescued Baby Houseman from the corner in the movie, CP has rescued Swayze!

Welcome the Native American Maidens to CP!!

Written by CP's VP of Intakes

I warn you right now these four little girls are going to steal your hearts! Thanks to one of our Rescue Angels, these four are now safe in the loving arms of Col. Potter and will never have to have any more puppies, but will now be able to be babied themselves!

Say hello to:

Nita: Female, DOB 8/23/08, wheaten, sweet, little snugglebug - her name comes from the Choctaw Tribe meaning bear cub.

Kachina: Female, DOB 8/24/04, red wheaten w/ black ears - her name comes from the Hopi Tribe meaning sacred dancer/spirit

Kaya: Female, DOB 2/13/03, wheaten - her name comes from the Hopi Tribe meaning elder sister

Nokomis: Female, DOB 2/13/02, wheaten, sister of Kaya - her name comes from the Cherokee Tribe meaning elder woman.

These Maidens almost didn't make it into CP ... not because of finances, or ability to get them ... but because we don't have foster homes available right now. It has become increasingly difficult to bring groups of furkids in because of the shortage of foster homes. There are other much larger groups that need help, but that won't be possible without the foster homes to take them.

If you aren't already a foster home, please consider becoming one. Please follow this link for information. You will be repaid for your kindness 10 times over!

Please help me welcome the Native American Maidens to CP!

Welcome Bert to CP!!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Coordinator

Bert is a beautiful little man who was found wondering the streets in rural Missouri. After a stay in the city pound, a plea came to us from a local shelter volunteer to save him.

Col Potter was glad to help. He is reportedly going to be a stunning boy with some care - he has a nice stance, straight tail, and is full on confidence. Please welcome Bert into CP.

Welcome Minnie to CP!!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Coordinator

Minnie is a sweet little girl we don’t have much information on, but we do know she has had many owners. She is resting comfortably at the vets awaiting her week long spa treatment. Now that Minnie is with Col. Potter, she will find that one special home she has patiently waited for.

Everyone please give Minnie a warm CP welcome.

Welcome Finola to CP!!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Coordinator

Finola is a 7 year old, female cairn who led a princess life with two elderly woman. She was loved, well vetted and taken care of. Sadly, her owners both died within a year of each other. Finola was taken in by a distant relative, who knew better than to surrender her to a shelter, until a home could be found for her. She reportedly will come when called, goes into her crate when told at bedtime, will sit when treats are given, stops whatever she is doing when told no, is housebroken, loves to lick and give kisses, likes her walks and to go for rides in the car.

She loves her belly and ears rubbed, being brushed, and to be on your lap. Doesn’t she sound just wonderful? I’d like everyone at give Finola a great big CP welcome, and maybe an extra hug, she’s lost all that she has known these past few months.

Welcome Wiggles to CP!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Member

Welcome CP's newest bundle of joy- Wiggles! Little Wiggles is a happy girl, ready with wags and kisses for everyone she meets. At two years old, she weighs in at only 12 pounds, a tiny girl with a huge zest for life. I don't expect with a face like hers she will be in foster care for long.

We are glad you are with us, Wiggles!

Welcome Macscruff!

Written by a CP Intakes Team Coordinator

MacScruff is a 1 and ½ year old cairn terrier. His previous owner was given MacScruff as a lap dog companion. MacScruff is a typical cairn, personality plus, and had just too much "character" for his owner. I'd like everyone to give a big CP welcome to MacScruff. Isn't he just adorable?

We know it won't be long until he finds a great forever home!
