A PM in Missouri was going out of business ... lost his license ... for the second time ... and had to sell his entire stock including breeders and puppies. This guy didn't even bother to hire a "real" auction house, but had everything set-up on his property himself. Even had the dogs priced according to what he wanted to get for them. This place was tucked back 1.5 miles off the main road all by itself. The building that housed the dogs was so short that a 6' tall person had to crouch to walk through. He had males marked as females and females marked as males. Everything was in disarray and very unorganized. The prices he was asking for the females were all more than what CP was willing to spend. We had our name on one male that was priced in our range, but how could we get more????
Make him a flat price offer for EVERY Cairn he had there!!! First attempt, the offer was turned down as he wanted to wait and see how things went. A little while later, he came and sought us out ... DEAL!!!! We had all the Cairns except two which had previously been purchased. We had just brought TWENTY FIVE (25) Cairns into the loving arms of Col. Potter!!!
Now, what’s the significance of those numbers???? We were ten away from rescuing the 2000th Cairn in the history of Col. Potter ... we not only got number 2000 but are now working on our next thousand!!!!!!
It gives me GREAT pleasure to introduce the Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Netwk - named after things that have significance and are so important in our rescue efforts:

Colonel, America, Remedy, Nurture, Cash and Elder traveled to Oz Project today. The rest will be boarded and vetted at a VERY busy and full vet's office this week. We're hoping the ones at the vet's office will be ready to travel to their foster homes next weekend. This is why we've been so busy recruiting foster homes. We couldn't go after these furkids without foster homes. As a matter of fact, we were far more successful than we ever anticipated and could use MORE FOSTER HOMES!!! If you are not currently fostering for Col. Potter check out our Foster Facts!
Now, my sincere THANKS to the Board of Directors for giving me the green light to go after these Cairns and make history! I don't believe we have ever brought in this many "live" Cairns in a single group before. We have had several groups that have had pregnant moms who once they had their puppies were added into the total, but not live Cairns brought in at one time. So more history!!
My thanks to those that helped transport these furkids to Oz Project today: Stacey W., Mary C., Dan M., Suzy & Mike L., Kathy & Mark C.
And FINALLY, my deepest THANKS and APPRECIATION to KATHY & BARNEY H. who attended this auction, made the great deal and currently still have 19 Cairns at their home they are caring for in their carport until tomorrow when they can be moved to the vet. You two are AWESOME!!!!!!!!
So, there you have it. CP History is made and made in a BIG way!!!! Enjoy the photos Kathy took of them and help me WELCOME COL. POTTER CAIRN RESCUE NETWK Kids and especially, COLONEL, the 2000th CAIRN RESCUED BY CP!!!!!
