2009 YEAR IN REVIEW AND DECEMBER: PLACEMENT/MATCHMAKERS GROUP

Contributed by CP's Director of Placement Services

Well, we have come to the end of another year and I am very proud of everyone on this team, including the database teams and contracts team.

The numbers for December of 2009 are Below.

35 homes were approved to adopt and assigned to a Matchmaker (includes 3previous adopters)

*25 Cairns were adopted (includes 3 foster adoptions & 0 FTA)
*20 homes were closed (either adopted elsewhere, stopped contacting MMer,were no longer interested or decided to foster)

As of the end of December, there were 77 total homes: 61 Active homes

8 Pending adoptions
8 Homes on 'Hold'

The totals for all of 2009 are as follows:

A total of *603* homes were approved to adopt and assigned to the MatchmakerTeam (includes 62 previous adopters).

*The total number of Cairns adopted during 2009 was 417 (includes 56 foster adoptions and 8 FTA homes).

*As a comparison, in 2008, a total of 593 homes were approved to adopt and assigned to a Matchmaker. The total number of Cairns adopted in 2008 was 416. As you can see we adopted out 1 more cairn in 2009 as compared to 2008. This is astounding considering the economic situation the past year.

Let's also not forget the Post Adoption team as they handled all 417 cairns after they went home. That's a lot of cairns to keep up with.

Thanks again for everyone who has contributed to this effort. If you are interested in applying to adopt one of our available cairns, please click here.
