Dottie's Dollar joins CP!

Written by a CP Intakes volunteer

This is the time of year that birds sing, bees buzz and flowers bloom. One of the most beautiful flowers of late spring is the iris which come in a multitude of colors and species. A very special Col. Potter volunteer, Kaaren J, is known for her gorgeous iris gardens. Each year Kaaren opens her gardens to the public and sells some of her prized Irises. Last year Kaaren offered some Irises for sale to raise donations for Col. Potter. A couple stopped at the sale along with their young daughter, Dottie. She had been given a dollar to spend as she wished. Dottie chose to donate her dollar to help the rescued cairns of Col. Potter. What a wonderful heart and soul this beautiful young girl has!

A year later the irises are blooming again and cairns are still in need of rescue. It is a time to reflect on the true meaning of Dottie's dollar - an unselfish gift given from the heart to help the helpless. Col. Potter is repaying this gift to Dottie by naming a beautiful, young rescued cairn girl in her honor. Please welcome Dottie's Dollar!

Thank you Dottie - and thank you Kaaren!
