Picaboo, a Darling 11 lb., approx. 4 year old Black Brindle Female |
This
darling little 11 lb., approximately 4 year old Cairn girl found herself in a
shelter and was down to her last few days before being euthanized. It’s
hard to believe no one was interested in adopting or rescuing her based on her
age and cuteness, but she is heartworm positive, so no one wanted her.
Col. Potter to the rescue!
And
what a rescue it turned out to be! We could not find any CP Volunteers
within a 50 mile radius of the shelter to pull her – and it’s not even located
in a remote area – just no one responded to our pleas for help. So
we reached out to other rescues for help and thankfully, Oklahoma Westie Rescue
jumped in willingly – not only to pull her but to transport her a good distance
to meet our very own faithful Volunteers, Mike and Lori R. Miss Picaboo (pronounced
“Peek-A-Boo”) spent
the night with them and is on her way to our vet this morning. Lori said
she is a very friendly little girl and that Mike is in “love” with her already!
Picaboo is Heartworm positive so will need treatment for several months |
She
will be undergoing heartworm treatment in her Foster home for the next few
months. If you would like to help little Picaboo on her road to recovery,
please consider donating to help with her medical expenses. Please send
your check with a note for Picaboo #5389 and mail it to:
