Rutherford Races into Col. Potter!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Rutherford, a friendly 1 year old Wheaten Male

It’s time to welcome a new young Cairn boy to the Col. Potter clan!  Here he is…Rutherford!  A slick, streamlined little Wheaten one-year-old.  Rutherford is a very active little fellow, and he darts around like a little flash!  Perhaps “Spitfire” would have been a better name for this happy, self-important little man who thinks he is just the bomb?

Our diligent CP Search and Rescue team found Rutherford listed at a shelter, and off we went to go get him.  We learned that Rutherford did not have such a great beginning for a young dog.  He was adopted as a young puppy into a home that was not so well-suited for a Cairn puppy.  This energetic little guy was kept in a crate for 10 hours a day throughout his puppyhood.  When his owner felt that she could no longer handle him, she dropped him off at the local shelter.  No wonder when we went to get him, he hit the ground running… and playing… and kissing… and barking!

Well, now he’s safe and sound, with lots of attention, and room to express himself.  So, let’s please give a big Col. Potter Welcome to Mr. “Catch me if you can!”

Welcome to the CP family, Rutherford!
