Col. Potter Volunteers and cairns at the Celebration of Pets 2011- Pictures!

Contributed by a CP Volunteer

set up

Pet Pages presented the largest pet event in the state of Florida last weekend! Over 180 local, state and national vendor booths & rescues. Demonstrations, music and food. A free goodie bag and free limited edition Pet Pages Frisbee was awarded to the first 1000 families! Col. Potter volunteers were invited to set up and man a booth representing Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue network. We hope you enjoy these pictures of the event and our volunteers as well as two cairn ambassadors!

Tired Cairn Ambassadors

These are the free samples that each of us got at the event!!! We took turns in manning the CP booth so that each of us had an opportunity to make the rounds of all the vendors. It was like Halloween for dogs When we got back to Karen M’s, she “displayed” her goodies.

What a GREAT event!!! There were 180 business vendors - with space allocated for 30 rescue organizations; there were agility trials, obedience demonstrations, dock dogs. . . . Col Potter’s booth was busy with traffic from the 9:00 a.m. opening, and it continued all day long – with several thousand people and their pets in attendance (our “Coins for Cairns” jar even had a couple of $20 bills in it ) We got to visit with lots of new prospective homes, but the very best advocates were the forever homes who came with their former CP kids – Stardust and Moonshine, Knox, Cypress, all to show their support and appreciation. It was a huge success; we all left feeling exhausted and exhilarated at the same time!! We are hoping that Col Potter is invited back again next year!!

Note from CP Blogger: We would like to thank our volunteers for coming out to represent CP and spread the word about cairn rescue!
