A Very Special Welcome To Sylvia!

A few days ago Intakes received notice of a cairn in need. What followed was a tale of love, despair and hope. Sylvia's owner dearly loved her animal family. She made provisions for her pets in the event of her death. A caretaker was named to make her wishes a reality - her trusted vet. Sadly, the owner unexpectedly passed away leaving Sylvia and Lollipop orphans. The vet and his staff were grief stricken and in shock upon hearing the news of losing their long time friend and client. They went into action to find the best possible homes for Sylvia and Lollipop. The vet has a long history of working with rescues. He told a trusted rescue friend about Sylvia. She in turn contacted one of her rescue friends, our own Ruth H., who gave her the link to Col. Potter to report a cairn in need. Ruth's friend told the vet about Col. Potter. Soon Intakes was given the nod to speak to the vet clinic directly to discuss CPCRN. Wednesday evening Intakes received word that Col. Potter was given the honor of helping Sylvia. Our screening and adoption process is exactly what the vet wanted for Sylvia. Anyone inquiring at the vet clinic about Sylvia will be referred to Col. Potter. The vet clinic is very grateful to Col. Potter for acting quickly to help this adorable 6 year old girl.

Sylvia's sister, Lollipop, is also in need of a home. She is a 16 year old Himalayan cat and is in good health. The vet ran a blood panel due to her age and she passed with flying colors. If anyone knows of someone interested in Lollipop, please contact CPCRN. She is located in the Orlando Florida area. This request is being made with the permission of the vet.

Although this is a very sad situation, it is a wonderful example of what networking can do; the CP business cards may save a life for a precious cairn like Sylvia! Ruth H. took Sylvia home today where she got a beauty makeover. Sylvia is smiling and wagging her tail again. She will be staying with Ruth until it's time to go to her foster home with Pat C. Sylvia now has hope for the future!
