A very popular fast food restaurant, Taco Bell, has a current slogan "Think Outside the Bun". Well, for our Taco Bell Menu Delights, I would like to use the slogan "Think Outside the Mill"!!!
I have been working on getting these five little Cairns out of the mill for more than two months now since we learned that the miller was fatally injured in an accident. The miller's family doesn't have the time and they all have other jobs, so they finally decided to close down the breeding operation and dispose of the breeding stock. Who says perseverence doesn't pay off? After making another attempt at contacting the family and some negotiation, these five Cairns made it to freedom last Wednesday and are now "Outside the Mill" and in the loving arms of Col. Potter!
Introducing our Taco Bell Menu Delights :
Chalupa: F, DOB 7/14/05, who just whelped her last litter of puppies two months ago
Taco: M, DOB 11/21/05, who was the father of Chalupa's puppies
Gordita: Female, age unknown
Enchirito: Female, age unknown, may be related to Chalupa
Nacho, Male , age unknown
Chalupa and Taco were the miller's first Cairns and were the only ones the miller's family could find the paperwork on. The other three are all younger than Chalupa and Taco, so all of them are under 5 years of age. From first appearances, they all seem to be in pretty good shape physically, are pretty friendly and well socialized and are definitely ready for freedom!
My THANKS to Dawn B. who drove into the middle of nowhere in Nebraska on Wednesday to pick up these kids and to Deirdre B. and her friend Gayle, who then drove to meet Dawn on Thursday to pick them up and get them to Deirdre's vet for boarding and vetting. Gordita means "fat" in Spanish. Is that a good name for such a pretty girl?
