Well, there were ~150 vendors, and we have to say we were very proud to be one of them. This was the first time we have ever done this and we're already planning for next year.
Tunkhannock is an historical little town, VERY close community, and the streets were closed from 6AM until 5PM last Saturday for this event. The event was free. The crowds were amazing. I think we had more people than they expected, because at about 2:30 PM when we were winding down a bit, Brian decided to get something dessert like to eat (we had already eaten lunch thankfully). SOLD OUT, all the food was SOLD OUT! What does that tell you??
We did justice for Col. Potter, and took in a very nice chunk of change. The L's showed up later in the afternoon with Miri's daughter, Zoe in tow (Miri's before and after photos were on the donation jar). THANK YOU for your donation !!
Our friend Jim brought his "build a bear" machine and our local theater (the Dietrich) was kind enough to allow him to set up in their lobby. He donated $5 from every stuffed animal made to Col. Potter! He did very well, and hence, so did Col. Potter.
Our best friend and Col. Potter transporter Penny G. and our own Jana P. came to "assist" and we had a great time. But most of all, Eva - the Cairn ambassador - brought in more people than anything we could have ever done. She was tremendous. Then Zoe - who loves everyone, picked up after Eva "got tired" and Jana had to take the little social butterfly home. Eva was also our first customer of the day as Mom Jana had to buy her a Skinneeez skunk (which she thoroughly entertained us with for a good 45 minutes!).
Eva, the Cairn Ambassador
ALL of the Skinneeez sold out and we could have sold more - we sold some cookbooks and there was lots of interest in our exclusive Col. Potter toy boxes and beds. We had a woman who was interested in adopting, and she made the mistake of reading the first pages of the calendar before she left our booth, in tears. We will be hearing from several folks who wanted to know HOW to get into fostering to help. Several described their set up and Brian whipped out the information and sent them away with a bag full of stuff to read.
Thanks Amy and Brian and everyone who helped for the great set-up you had and the VERY successful Public Relations, Education and benefit for Col. Potter. YOU ALL DID GREAT. Everything looks wonderful .
