Ready to Groom your own cairn?- Enjoy these Video Demonstrations

Contributed by a CP Volunteer

Not everyone is able to or even wants to do their own grooming, but if you are one of those who would like to and just don't know where to start here is a great little video demonstrating the Mars Coat King on YouTube and the dog in the video is even a Cairn! Here are some videos of Cairns being groomed.

The first video is from the First Annual Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast Fun Day hosted by Maeva and Kerby L. In it you will see a handstripping demonstration where pieces of hair are removed from the Cairn by hand.

Dogs really don't seem to mind the Mars Coat King because it is no different than running a brush through their coats and it removes the dead hair in very little time. The next video demonstrates the Mars Coat King on a cairn.

A volunteer uses hers about once a week or so in the summer and that keeps her Cairns trimmed and takes about 5 minutes per dog. She also uses the Furminator occasionally to keep the undercoat in check and it is used in the same way except that you will need to use shorter strokes.

If you are ready to groom your own cairn or just want to keep them trimmed up between groomings, both of these tools - the Mars Coat King and the Furminator can be purchased from CPCRN's website. Thank you for supporting Col. Potter.
