Col. Potter has a wonderful tradition of it's New Leash on Life fundraisers which are a fantastic assortment of prizes that could be yours for a $15.00 raffle ticket. The prizes are varied and are contributed by the volunteers who support the efforts of Col. Potter to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cairn terriers, some are rescued from shelters at the last minute, some are owner surrenders, others are beginning a life in freedom after years at a commercial breeding facility. Col. Potter rescues the young and old, the sick and healthy and all are given the opportunity to flourish in foster care on their way to a forever home. Col. Potter raises all of the funds required for this important work. Those of us who have participated in a NLOL as it is affectionately abbreviated know how much fun it is to check out the potential prizes and pick your top 10 and then wait for the numbers to be drawn!

In the 10 years CPCRN has been ‘in business’, we’ve not only spanned the continent from side to side in the USA, we also have Canadian volunteers from Coast to Coast. We are very proud of the hundreds of individual volunteers that make this rescue work for the cairns. Our transport team does so much driving, we could have gone around the world many times. To celebrate our diversity of locations, we have special squares on this New Leash celebrating the many US States and Canadian Provinces in which our volunteers are located.

Everyone has their favorites, this time, you can win a sweetgrass basket from South Carolina square #033. You may not realize that these are considered works of art and a representative basket is displayed at the Smithsonian. You could win a $100 gift certicate to Pewabic Pottery if you win the Michigan square #061 or an original one of a kind Wizard of Oz quilt and ruby slippers bandana made by a volunteer from Minnesota square # 084.
