Ivers, a darling little 3 year old Wheaten Male |
Rose, a beautiful 3 year old Black Brindle Female |
The
old TV series The Naked City always
began with the line "There
are eight million stories
in the naked city;
this has been one of .... " Well, we could almost say that about Col. Potter, but on a smaller scale.
All of our furkids have a story to tell. In the case of our two newest
family members, there apparently is also a story to tell about the origination
of their names. They both were named by the same donor with
"teaser" lines of who they are in memory of. This is your
chance to be your own version of Mickey Spillane, or Danielle Steel, or Stephen
King, depending on your reading preferences. For my own writing and
reading styles, I really hope they were star crossed lovers that found freedom,
safety and love in a new country.
Rose
is a beautiful, 3 year old, Black Brindle female, weighing in at a full figure
18 pounds. Rose is named in memory of the girl that got off the boat at Ellis Island as “Theresa” and became “Rosie”.
Ivers
is a dashing, 3 year old, Wheaten male, weighing in at a trim 12 pounds. Ivers
is named in memory of all the Ivers that laughed and loved.
Both
names were generously donated by Christopher Van P. through our Name a Rescue Cairn Program.
Whatever
the true story is behind the names Rose and Ivers, we just know they will be
best sellers and reach #1 in the hearts of everyone they touch. Can't
wait to read their sequels in Foster care!
Please
help us welcome Rose and Ivers!
