Poem: I am a Mill Dog

Written by a CP Volunteer

Today I was thinking about all the emails recently from foster homes with all the little ones that have been rescued. There are times I can not get thoughts out of my mind. This was one of them. So I wrote this poem.

I Am a Mill Dog

Do my eyes tell you what I have seen?
Does my body tremble when I sometimes have those dreams?

Has my cowering in the corner brought a tear to your eye?
When you feel my frail body do I see even grown men cry?

Are you here to hurt me or have you heard my cries in the night?
Can you hear my heart beating when you hold me so tight?

I have never known kindness I have never felt love.
Will you be my angel that was sent from above.

I have been so alone and have felt loss all around.
I have learned that it’s best if I do not make a sound.

I think I can learn that kindness will bring me a new feeling called love.
And I see in your eyes you have been sent from heaven above.

Hurry to get your 2010 CP calendar before they SELL OUT!

Written by a Col. Potter volunteer

The 2010 Cairn Rescue Calendar promises to go somewhere where no other Col. Potter Calendar has gone before--and that is the SELL OUT section!!!!

The last box is open and on the shipping table. Volunteers are sitting and waiting for the orders to arrive and I expect that the SOLD OUT sign will be up before the turn of the year.

So if you want it, now is the time to get on line and order it while we still have some left.

If your own dog, or one or more of your fosters, are in the calendar you need to get your copy now. You can pay by Pay Pal, Check or Credit Card but if you hang around much longer you will be disappointed.

The 2011 Calendar will be going into production in the New Year, but when the 2010 edition is gone, it's gone for good!

IT’S A CAIRNTASTIC CHRISTMAS PRESENT !!!

Written by a CP Media Volunteer

Do you have someone on your Christmas list that you give a calendar to every year? In my family, I have a sister who gets a horse calendar, I usually get a Van Gogh calendar and the kids have their favorites as well. We all want to pass on and celebrate our shared values with our friends and family. What better way to do this then to purchase and give a Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network 2010 Faces of Rescue calendar.

Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network is proud to announce our 10th annual Cairn Terrier rescue calendar. This calendar is dedicated to our rescue dogs, to those who foster, to those who have adopted, and to our many volunteers and supporters.

I adopted my first Col. Potter cairn in 2005 so the 2006 calendar was the first one that I bought. It’s a beautiful calendar and it contains pictures of all of the dogs rescued and adopted the previous year so if you were lucky enough to foster or adopt a cairn from Col. Potter last year, their picture will be in it! In 2008, we adopted two Col. Potter cairns so both of these girls were “calendar girls” last year and in 2009, we have fostered two Col. Potter cairns and adopted one and they are all in the 2010 calendar. I have given one to my vet and one to my groomer and plan to give one to my sister and to my friends who are dog lovers.

The cost is the same or less than buying a calendar from a well known chain of bookstores or online. It is only $15.00 which includes postage and if you buy two, you get a
cairn car decal for free. If you buy five, you get six for the price of five (or a FREE one!) $7.00 from each calendar goes DIRECTLY to the rescue and rehabilitation of our cairns.

Our Faces of Rescue Calendar includes:

Wonderful dog poems.

Theme pages that will make you smile or reflect

A photograph of every rescue dog that has been in our system from the close of our 2009 calendar on 09/30/2009. This includes:

All of our fosters still under our wings and not adopted as of the 2009 close off date of 09/15/09

All the dogs who have been adopted this year with their Col. Potter given name, the state to which they were adopted and their current name if their name was changed and we have received this information.

There are pictures of well over 500 Cairns in this calendar. That outdoes any other Cairn calendar anywhere.

Our Col. Potter Angels who crossed to the Rainbow Bridge while under our wings.
