Please Welcome Miss Miriam!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Please welcome our newest little CP princess! Her name is Miss Miriam and she is five years old. Sadly, Miss Miriam's story is another one about hard times in today's economy. Her owner's loved and cared for her since she was a puppy but found themselves in a position where they were no longer able to do so because of financial difficulties. The good news is that the owner sought us out to help, as other alternatives could have been devastating for her.

Miss Miriam's name came about as an honor to a wonderful gal named Miriam who has helped us so many times with arranging Canadian flights on Pacific Coastal Airlines. She does such a great job helping us out with booking flights for our CP kids. We are so lucky to have her!! "Thank you Miriam!"

The amount of time and volunteers it takes to bring a new kid into CP is incredible. Finessing all the details can be challenging at times, but knowing the end result is helping one of our furry kids makes it all well worth it. As part of the Intakes Team, I really depend on the people who volunteer their time to do a pickup. But anyone who has been involved with a pick up knows it does not stop there. Many times there are "extra" things that need to be done to get our new member "up to par". A big 'Thank You' to Lauren N. for volunteering her time to pick up Miss Miriam and doing all the "extra" things that were needed.

I have to mention the Transport Team (Julie R. in particular) who worked very hard to find volunteers to get this girl to where she needs to go for foster care. After many details and many worries, everything came together. But only because of ALL of your help. It does not go unnoticed. None of this could happen without all our wonderful volunteers! Keep up the good work! And to each person who is taking time away from the other things they could be doing this weekend to get her to her foster home...thank you, thank you!!
