BELIEVE IT OR NOT, CP WELCOMES RIPLEY!!

Written by CP VP of Intakes

Leroy "Robert" Ripley was a cartoonist, explorer, reporter, adventurer, illustrator, collector and seeker of the odd and unusual. Millions of people worldwide have visited his exhibits and museums to view his collection of oddities and share his adventures.

Most of the dogs used for breeding in Clark County, Wisconsin end up at the Thorp Dog Auction when they have outlived their usefulness, don't produce or just aren't wanted anymore. They don't generally release dogs to rescue if there is money to be made off their backs yet, even if just $5 at auction. So, to have a miller release a dog to rescue is an oddity in this area and a rare occurrence indeed. This little Cairn was the last Cairn this miller had left in his breeding stock. Apparently he wasn't saleable and we can only guess that it might have been due to his skin infections. Believe It Or Not, this probably saved him from spending the rest of his life as a breeder and the reason he found his way into the loving arms of CP!

Ripley is already making the most of his freedom ... he is sweet, friendly and happily wags his tail at those he recognizes. The vet estimates Ripley to be between 1 and 2 years old.

Ripley also has a special Guardian Angel watching over him. His name was donated by Carmen and John Steele in memory of their wonderful Cairn, Ripley. My thanks also to the rescue angels who alerted me to Ripley and helped to get him to safety and freedom!

The world awaits Ripley to explore and have a lifetime of adventure and I know there is the perfect forever family just waiting out there to share his adventures with him ... WELCOME to CP Ripley ... Believe It Or Not!
