HO HO HO ... GUESS WHO JUST SLID DOWN THE CP CHIMNEY!

Written by CP's VP of Intakes

The need for rescue assistance doesn't take a holiday ever. Shelters continue to take in far too many lost, abandoned and unwanted animals daily. Those not reclaimed, adopted or lucky enough to find a rescue to take them, have no future, no loving, caring family to spend the holidays with. They won't know the joy of a special treat or gift for the holidays ... they will only know death, their bodies discarded like used wrapping paper.

One of our wonderful vets was contacted by the local shelter about a Cairn that had been picked up as a stray. No one came to claim him and the shelter is so overflowing with dogs they have them in small wire crates stacked on top of each other as high as they can go. No one is adopting right now because of the holidays and even those few families looking can't even see half the available dogs at this shelter because they are so crammed in. By the time Santa Claus is making the rounds this year, this boy would have been dead. Luckily for him, someone was making their list and checking it twice, deciding he wasn't naughty, but rather quite nice and so made the effort to get him to rescue. Tonight this adorable, friendly, full of personality little Cairn boy is now snuggled all safe and warm in a kennel at our vet while visions of a happily ever after dance in his head.

Please welcome Claus to the CP Family ... Ho Ho Ho!
