I am respectful of the alpha in my foster home.

I get along well with the other 6 furkids here.

I love to play with the other furkids or alone.

I love toys and spending time outside.

If I am busy, my hearing is not so good when you call me.

I like to dig and hunt and sometimes chase prey.

I love people.

I like to give kisses and tail wags.

I am very talkative.

I prefer to have my people home, but do not need to be close to them. I am too busy playing with the others or myself. Or even napping. I do ask for belly rubs often or a few scritches. Sometimes I like to lay next to you on the couch. I just need to know you are nearby.

I have a small bladder and have to potty more often, so a fenced yard with a doggie door or someone to let me out often would be best. I am able to keep my crate dry overnight, if you make sure I potty and go right to bed. I go most often when I am active and get thirsty more often.

I sleep quietly in my crate all night.

My favorite treat is boiled egg.

Gouda Enjoying a Pleasure that only Freedom Brings

Today I took pictures while the pups were out to potty...hoping to get a good one for Gouda's web write up. Gouda just loves the grass! He would stay outside all day if he could. When he is not chasing and playing, he is just laying or rolling in the grass in total enjoyment. Gabby(Detroit) loves being outside, but she prefers to hunt or dig...or find an earthworm to roll on:) But Gouda is just happy with grass! I just love seeing this sweet boy totally enjoy such a simple pleasure that most mill kids never get to experience when they spend their lives in cages.

As our regular readers know, we recently welcomed the City Slickers into the loving arms of Col. Potter and this week, Glacier brought us five little bundles of joy as she delivered her first litter into freedom! You can help finance the rescue work of Col. Potter and it doesn't have to cost you a cent! Please vote in the Animal Rescue Site's Shelter Challenge and in the Bissell MVP Photo Challenge to give Col. Potter a chance at winning some money to help us continue to rescue Cairns in need! The CAIRNS thank you ... and we do too!

THEY'RE HERE - WELCOME THE CITY SLICKERS! Part 1

Part 1 of a 3 part series

Col. Potter stretches across the entire United States and Canada to embrace Cairns in Need. I don't have the statistics in front of me, but I would hazard to guess that we have rescued and/or adopted Cairns to just about every one of the continental 48 states, Alaska, many provinces of Canada, Puerto Rico, and I believe we just had an adoption in Mexico. It's truly amazing how far reaching Col. Potter has become!

Our latest group of Cairns to join the Col. Potter family is also one of the largest single groups to join CP at one time. This past Sunday 28 little Cairns found their way to warmth, care and a much needed bath! There are 5 more females from this group that are waiting to join CP as they are still nursing puppies or waiting to whelp. Let's keep our fingers crossed that when they are finished, they too will find their way to the loving and waiting arms of Col. Potter.

In honor of the volunteers across the country who make all of this possible, please help me Welcome the City Slickers:

Let's hope a few more cities can be represented in the future when the others can join us! These City Slickers will be coming to a foster home in a city near you very soon . Let's roll out the Welcome Wagon for them!
