Here's CP foster Slugger - Video!!

Contributed by Slugger's foster mom

Slugger’s been here almost a week and he's a real sweetie pie. He lets everyone have their own space and is as peaceful as can be. Sometimes, he just naps in his crate. He hasn’t shown any interest in toys, birds, or squirrels, but he will sit outside near the cow pasture and just wait and wait and wait - hoping to see some cows, I guess. He came from a farm and misses his farm animals. He knows some commands like “come,” “sit,” and “let’s eat.” He also goes to the door and barks once when he wants outside. If you don't go right away, he barks once more. He’s had no accidents and no marking. He's too good to be true, I tell you! He gets along great with the resident kids – cats, too. He’s an all-around great guy looking for a great home. He’s still in his evaluation period, but this kid is a dream. He is being fostered in Florida and you can click here to learn more about him or the other cairns available for adoption.

Welcome Slugger!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Slugger is an 8 year old male and for 8 years he enjoyed the kind of life every cairn dreams of. His family brought him home when he was a mere pup of 8 weeks. He was very loved and enjoyed his life growing up in a rural area with lots of room to zoom and vermin to hunt. He became friends with all of the resident animals including horses, chickens and even cats!

But current economic conditions required the family to move to a new city and into a small apartment in order to find new jobs. The new jobs meant Slugger was at home alone for long hours everyday. Slugger became very sad and depressed and wasn’t adjusting to his new lifestyle. His family contacted Col Potter to see if we could find Slugger a new family who could provide the love and lifestyle he had become accustomed to -- and hopefully, put that smile back on his face.
