Please welcome Hoodie

Written by a CP Intakes volunteer

Please welcome Hoodie, a handsome 6-1/2 year old wheaten cairn boy. Like so many other recent intakes, his family was going through extremely difficult times and very sadly needed to find a new home for him. He’s reportedly a very happy little boy, housebroken, loves kids, gets along with other dogs (and cats too), and is even crate trained.

Welcome to your new Col. Potter family Hoodie!

A Twist in the Road - Welcome Maddox!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

The name Maddox means little fortunate one. When Maddox's human family grew, they had less time for him and felt he deserved better and sought a rescue for Maddox. Impatience set in while waiting on the rescue approval, and the family took another road. Suddenly this sweet, mellow cairn found himself in a shelter. The shelter happened to post his picture and story on their website. Ever diligent, one of our own rescue searchers spotted his listing and submitted it for review per normal procedure. Days had gone by since Maddox was taken to the shelter, but he was still safe.

Shelter personnel, when contacted by Intakes, were concerned about his well being as he was not getting the quality diet needed to keep his allergies at bay. In the best interest of Maddox, the shelter asked Col. Potter to help. Soon Maddox was packing his bags to come to the safety of Col. Potter. The twist in the road brought Maddox back from the verge of disaster. Even though Maddox had experienced ten days of shelter life, he remained a mellow fellow and sweet as can be. Right now Maddox is enjoying a safe, clean & warm hotel stay at a vet clinic, mandatory after being in a shelter environment. Sociable, very sweet and friendly are some of the comments already heard about our new CP boy, Maddox.

Maddox is a handsome wheaten with distinctive ears, 6 1/2 years old, obedience trained, housebroken, neutered, and ADORABLE, even if he is in need of a little weight loss program. A huge thank you to Mary S.-R. for spotting him on her search duty, Denise G. for posting him, and Mary Ellen L. for making the long trip to bring Maddox to safety. Please welcome Maddox!!

Hayden Joins Col. Potter!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Hayden is a 6 1/2 year old boy and an owner surrender. With changes coming in the family, his owners explored many options of helping Hayden find a new home. They decided the best option was Col. Potter where cairns are royalty. Hayden waited quite a while to join Col. Potter due to the slim availability of foster homes and cairns in more urgent situations needing to be rescued first. While waiting for a foster home, Hayden's own family had a medical emergency when the anticipated new baby arrived prematurely. Someone was looking out for Hayden and his family as a foster home became available just when the new baby was being released from intensive care. Hayden began his long trip to his foster home and Col. Potter this weekend. He is now in his foster home enjoying the new surroundings and dinner.

Hayden has an overshot jaw and unique Andy Rooney eyebrows giving him a very distinguished look. He has a sweet personality behind those riveting eyes that can look straight through you. Hayden wants to thank everyone for making it possible for him to become a Col. Potter kid.

Please welcome Hayden!!
