Welcome sweet little Buckeye to Col. Potter!

Written by CP's VP of Intakes

We were contacted by a shelter that we work with on a regular basis about a little Cairn they felt would do better going to rescue than being adopted out of the shelter. Many times this means they have health or behavior issues. NOT THIS TIME! A family had purchased him from a local pet store who is supplied and owned by the large puppy selling corporation based out of Missouri. (You know, the one that ships dogs in large semi-trailers to their stores.) After just a few weeks, they decided he had too much energy and was too much for them to handle. Well, DUH, he's a Cairn puppy ... They surrendered him to the shelter.

We got him picked up from the shelter pronto not wanting to expose him to any of the health issues that can be present in a shelter environment because of his age. My thanks to the Col. Potter volunteers who moved so quickly to get this little boy to safety and the new foster home he will be headed to.

And now, may I present Buckeye, an absolutely adorable little boy, born 1/7/10 which means he just celebrated his 4 month birthday!! Welcome little Buckeye and this won't be the last birthday you'll be celebrating safe and loved!

Welcome CP's B's!

Two furkids, well actually one kid and one senior, joined the CP family yesterday. They came from an auction in OK. We were alerted to this auction and when we checked the auction catalog, we knew we had to pull out all the stops to get a senior girl out of there and to safety and freedom. Then on Friday, they added a puppy to the catalog. We don't have a lot of volunteers in OK, but luckily Deb S. was helping to transport Nod and agreed to swing back by the auction to try to get the Cairns. Deb arrived just in time to get both the senior female and male puppy!

Glory Bee was born 12/30/97 - that's NOT a typo - 1997. She will be 11 years old and has spent her entire life as a breeder dog. She deserved a very special name and she has one. Glory Bee is named in honor and memory of Amy R.'s mother-in-law Gloria.

Bixby was born 2/23/08, so he's not even four months old. He's absolutely adorable!

Both Glory Bee and Bixby are being vetted and boarded this week and then will be ready for foster homes. If you are interested in fostering, check out our Foster Facts!

Please help us welcome Glory Bee and Bixby, our CP B's!!!
